Shadow

 

He Defies the LAW

He brings DESPAIR

Here and THERE

You’ll see him STARE

Over THERE!

In the AIR

You’ll never find up THERE

He’s THIN

 He’s IN

 With a forehead DOMED

And hair UNCOMBED

His Ego defies GRAVITY

His soul the pit of DEPRAVITY

He moves in stealth like a SNAKE

And leaves fear wide AWAKE

You may find him in the SQUARE

Well Scotland Yard didn’t find him THERE

The banks are RIFLED

People are STIFLED

And the detectives have gone ASTRAY

And he’s gone far a WAY

You saw a corpse on the STAIR

 He’s too smart to leave it THERE

 They’ll SAY

Stay AWAY

 For He’ll break your THUMBS

And make his SUMS

And with TIME (as always)

You’ll only find that he is the master of all CRIME

 Yet no one knows who he IS

 The shadow they say it IS

   I turned 18 a few weeks ago. While the thought of "growing up" and being an "adult" excites me I must say that initially I was bound by fear, doubt and a certain sense of sadness by the fact that I was now no longer considered a kid.  I think part of me wanted to still be that 16 year old who was in love with anime, Sherlock Holmes and Doctor who (well to be honest I love all these characters too much to really ever let go of them)   Turning 18 did not excite me rather it infuriated me. In my head I was to be a superstar by the time I was 18, in reality I was still the same old shaakya, timid, failing exams and had not won any competitions for oratory in a while.   We all want to ensure that the people we love are ever so happy we want them to have the best of everything.   One  evening my mother received a text from one of my brothers classmates, a long winded elaborate text explaining how my brother was bullying this kid and that to please tell him to stay away and to treat people properly.   With each word that was been read my heart raced my blood boiling and the urge to kick this boy out of site was growing stronger.   I was, needless to say pissed!
